Suffering from Expressive
Language Disorder

Hi, I am 35 years old.

I have difficulty expressing myself verbally and writtenly. I realised this problem when I was about 15 years old but failed to get the right help.

This problem was not resolved but aided by the fact that through most of my schooling, rote learning was encouraged (i.e when answering a test question, you transfered almostly better still exactly when responding what you read in a textbook or heard your teacher teach).

I got challenges later on when I went to another country for study with a system of assessment differing from the one I was used to.

Details of the challenges have great difficulty connecting sentences in a paragraph, paragraphs in an essay, wrapping up what I have heard or read in my own words.

When I speak/communicate, sometimes people miss my words or misunderstand me.

My poor expression is really concerning me as soon I will be embarking on a bachelors degree course in neuroscience which will require of me to communicate clearly.

At one time, I also had a great problem of receptive language disorder but through much research and trying, I am coming out of it.

I can now understand a majority of writings and speeches, it is now expression a problem sometimes analysis too.

Well wishers willing to offer advice and support can contact me on my e-mail address.

Thanks,

Charles
