Sudden Stuttering for 15 year old boy

What could be the cause of a boy suddenly, out of the blue starting to stutter?

I've read about neurological stuttering being a result of trauma, drugs, etc. But none of that applies to him. He did have a head injury when he was 2, but that was 13 years ago and he was cleared of anything at the time.

Is this going to stay or go away as sudden as it came?

What other insights or recommendations might you have?
