My 12 yr old son still is having issues articulating thoughts and pronunciation.

Hi.

My son has been in speech therapy since he was 5 years old. He is currently 12 years old and this is his first year without speech therapy.

Unfortunately, we still can't understand what he is trying to say half the time. My son either uses the wrong words to describe (ex., he said pond when he meant jacuzzi and shed when he meant house) or he drops off the last letter of a word (stop becomes sto....happy becomes happ).

He's frustrated and so are we. Not sure at this point what we can do to help him. We've tried correcting, which always ends up with hurt feelings. Please help!

Concerned Parent,
Yvonne
