Do you think speech therapy ever gets rid of the initial problem completely over time?

I had to do speech therapy for a couple of years as a child. I had trouble with reading and pronunication. I feel like I still struggle with pronunication. For example, in my head I can say the word right, but when I say it out loud it’s not always right. Even if I do get it right at a later point in time I might say it wrong the next time.
