Gilliam Asperger’s Disorder Scale (GADS)

The Gilliam Asperger’s Disorder Scale (GADS) is a standardized instrument used for the assessment of individuals ages 3-22 with the possibility of Asperger’s disorder and/or other behavioral disorders. The GADS provides norm-referenced information that can assist in the diagnosis of Asperger's Disorder. Items on the GADS are based on the definitions of Asperger's disorder adopted by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders- Fourth Edition- Text Revision (DSM-IV-TR) and the International Classification of Diseases- Tenth Edition (ICD-10). The GADS behavioral checklist is composed of four subscales (Social Interaction, Restricted Patterns of Behavior, Cognitive Patterns, and Pragmatic Skills) totaling 32 items.
