Losing My Language

by Kamawera

Hi,

I have been in US 10 years. I learned English at home, coming here I refreshed and learned a lot and almost form the beginning I could speak well.

Just this year something is happening with me.

When I hear some words, there are moments that I get confused I hear something and I can not recognize what the person is saying, sometimes I have this even reading a paper.

It scares me, because it happens often not (at least once a day). In those moments (that usually last a minute or two) I can not speak, I'm in some kind of brain confusion, it is usually easier for me to find words in my native language and slowly pull myself out of this.

Do you know anything about it, is it a brain issue..? It is scares me, to live here if I will be forgetting the language.

Thank you in advance.
